“Cantina Terlano is arguably Italy's top white wine co-operative“

Michael Garner - Decanter

Julia Springeth

We’re excited about this tasting with Cantina Terlano, a top Italian white wine producer with many repeated accolades from Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Decanter, Vinous, and Gambero Rosso.

Why do they get such praise?

Their wines are smooth and concentrated, with seamless depth and richness that exceed those of many others.

How do they do it?

They do everything right and at the right time. They plant vines in the best soils and allow them to mature to the right age. They encourage the best fruit by keeping the number of grapes per vine low. Then they wait till the right moment to harvest. In the cellar, their winemaking is precise and measured. At the finish, they leave the wines to age in old wooden barrels, on yeast, and then bottle at the right moment to complete the aging process to perfection. Patience in all makes for exquisite white wines with exceptional ageability. We’ll demonstrate that last with a bottle of the ten-year-old 2015 Nova Domus.

We are very happy to welcome Terlano’s Julia Springeth, who is as knowledgeable and experienced as she is lovely. Her parents being members of the co-op.
