Bob Foley is one of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon foremost winemakers. He has an impressive resume having worked since 1977 with Heitz, Markham, Pride Mountain, Hourglass, Switchback, and Paloma.
More important, he is one of the pioneers of and now among the best winemakers making Cabernet, in a modern paintbrush rather than sledgehammer style.
This dinner will feature three of his cabernets the 2017 Napa Cabernet and Claret, the latter his rendition of a Bordeaux blend. Both are outstanding, more precise, complex, and interesting than many other Napa offerings. The Mount Veeder Cabernet is a classic rendition of mountain fruit
Bob is famous or notorious for Petite Sirah , Griffin is an eclectic red blend, the lighter-bodied herbal Charbono, once a Napa staple, now rare;. We will also sample his tiny production of savory Cabernet franc
In person Bob is as entertaining as his wines are delicious. They alone are worth the price. But take a look at the menu. Chef William Kovel has outdone himself with some of the best of his creations. This will be a memorable dinner for fun and flavor, one not to be missed.
