Bruno Clavelier makes exceptional wines that are known for their quality and authenticity. Committed to artisanal winemaking, he emphasizes meticulous viticulture, using organic and biodynamic practices.
In 1987, he inherited the winery l from his grandfather. Clavelier now manages 6.5 hectares in Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Aloxe-Corton. Certified organic, the domain's soils are free from synthetic fertilizers, ensuring the health and balance of the vines.
In the cellar; Clavelier favors minimal intervention and uses older oak barrels. Vinification process is traditional, with open-topped, cone-shaped oak vats specific to each cuvée. Up to 30% of whole clusters with inndigenous yeasts, manual punch downs and gentle pump-overs. Natural malolactic fermentation. occurs in the spring.
Bruno Clavelier is a biodynamic winemaking in Burgundy. His holistic winemaking approach has made him one of the most respected wineries in Burgundy.
He was particularly successful in the difficult 2021 vintage. His wines are gracious and forward in 2022.
