We are happy to welcome Ana Fabiano, Rioja author and ambassador. Ana will present the wines of Conde Valdemar, a winery that embodies the characteristics of Rioja that make them so attractive.

Conde Valdemar is now entering the seventh generation of the Martinez Bujanda family. Over 100 years of tradition are always respected, and improvements in innovation are welcome.
Here we find fresh young wines and well-aged reservas, all for great prices. We will taste one white and three red Riojas.
The 2020 Conde Valdemar Rioja Blanco is a blend of Viura, Tempranillo Blanco and Malvasia, which gives us a balanced blend of flowers, fruit, and herbs.
We will begin the reds with the 2017 Conde Valdemar Rioja Crianza. This shows mature dark fruit and well-integrated oak. The 2012 Conde Valdemar Rioja Reserva shows more complexity and spice. Here we get a fine mature red for a great price. The 2010 Conde Valdemar Rioja Gran Reserva is from a great vintage which gives us a wine with great personality. It is amazing to find a series of wines with this quality, credibility, and price. Enjoy.

2020 Conde Valdemar Rioja Blanco: Straw with green highlights. Almond flowers, linden, and acacia. Aromatic herbs in a pear, melon base. Good fresh acidity and persistent finish. Very Good Plus 12.99/bottle, Case 10.99
Red
2017 Conde Valdemar Rioja Crianza: Clean bright cherry. Mature black fruit, notes of licorice. Well, integrated oak and spice. Fresh, pleasant black fruit nuances in the finish. Very Good Plus 13.99, Case 11.99
2012 Conde Valdemar Rioja Reserva: Bright cherry color. Aromas and flavors of mixed berries, cassis, spices, cocoa, and toffee. Smooth, balanced long finish. Very Good to Excellent 19.99/bottle, Case 16.99
2010 Conde Valdemar Rioja Gran Reserva: Attractive red ruby. Concentrated black fruit with coffee, licorice, and truffle. Balanced2 personality with notes of eucalypt in the long finish. Excellent 32/bottle, Case 26.99
